Jameatra Mitchell

Cook

(September, 2008)

Jameatra loves being a Hamlet Atrium cook. She makes the best cookies, pasta dishes, and sauces! Jameatra says, "I love a challenge and I love competition." The more difficult the recipe, or the more challenging it is to prepare for a large party, the more she enjoys doing her job. Jameatra is a hard worker and always exceeds what she is expected to do. And, she does it with a big smile.

Jameatra cooked at Geauga Senior Center in Chagrin Falls and at the Marriott downtown before coming to Hamlet three years ago. She has three children; Ryan, Rodney, and Janieyah. She sometimes brings little Janieyah to work on Saturdays and she sits in her high chair and watches her mom cook. She is a single mom and drives here from Euclid every day. Dining Room Manager Barb Gryzinsic says, "Jameatra pays a baby sitter and never misses a day of work. That is hard to do in today?s world."

Jameatra says she loves the environment and people at Hamlet. She likes to get resident?s opinions about foods and mingles with the residents to find out what they like. She tries to make changes so they can have the best dining experience possible. Jameatra says, "The residents love me! I always try to do my best!" She is the best and Hamlet is so fortunate to have her!
